At Workcastle drop-in childcare facility, we prioritize the health and safety of our children and staff. To achieve this, we use the Brightwheel app, which includes a Health Screen option at check-in. This feature is designed to comply with COVID-19 regulations and provide you with peace of mind that we are taking concrete steps to keep our community safe. We conduct a quick health screening for every child upon arrival. During this process, we will take your child's temperature, ask about any symptoms or recent exposure to COVID-19, and inquire about their travel history.
Our staff also prioritize regular hand washing and utilize non-toxic cleaning products to sanitize the space and toys on a daily basis.
Absolutely! Our mission at WorkCastle is to provide convenient hourly drop-in childcare services, allowing parents to pay only for the care they need. We understand that schedules can be unpredictable, and our goal is to offer flexibility and peace of mind to busy parents. It's important to note that WorkCastle is a licensed childcare center regulated by the Texas Department of Health And Human Services, Child Care Regulations, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of safety and quality. You can trust us to provide reliable and nurturing care for your children whenever you need it.
According to the regulations the Texas Department of State Health Services set forth, WorkCastle must obtain a copy of your child's immunization record by the admission date.
If your child attends another school or daycare apart from our childcare center, you can indicate on the admission form that their vaccination records are up to date and kept at another school/daycare, providing the full name of the institution, address, and phone number.
For parents who cannot provide an immunization record or have an exemption, we require an affidavit by the rules specified by the Texas Department of State Health Services in 25 TAC §97.66.
More information on immunization requirements can be found at www.dshs.state.tx.us/immunize.
We provide childcare services for children aged 18 months to 13 years.

No! You are welcome to use your coworking hours when it is most convenient for you, whether that be while your child is in childcare or during any of our other operating hours. We'll keep you updated on your little one throughout the day on the Brightwheel app, whether you're present at our facility or away for the day!
Yes! With WorkCastle, you have the convenience of signing in and scheduling care whenever you need it. While we cannot guarantee immediate drop-in care on the same day, we highly recommend contacting us to inquire about availability if you require last-minute care.
At WorkCastle, we do not provide meals for children. If a child is under our care for more than 3 hours, the parent or legal guardian should provide a snack for the child.
Yes, you can purchase food from our café or bring it from outside and provide it in a container or bag labeled with the child's name and the date and time of preparation or purchase. We can store the provided food in the refrigerator, heat it, and offer it to the child. Please note that WorkCastle is not responsible for the food provided by parents and the consequences of its consumption.
Since many of our children have different schedules and are typically here for short periods, we do not have a designated nap time. According to the Texas Minimum Standards rules (§747.2801), we are pleased to provide a supervised nap or rest period for all children aged 18 months and older who are in our care for five or more consecutive hours or as per their individual physical needs.
For children attending our childcare for fewer than five hours but requiring a nap or rest based on their individual physical needs, we will also ensure a supervised nap or rest period.
Children departing from the center will only be released to their parents or individuals designated on the "Child Release Authorization List" provided during their initial admission. You are responsible to keep "Child Release Authorization List" up to date and provide amendments to this list to WorkCastle staff as necessary.
Any adult recorded as an authorized pick-up individual for the child will be required to show a valid government-issued photo identification as distinguishing proof that the child can be discharged to them. WorkCastle staff will review their photo identification and make a copy to keep in your child’s records.
At WorkCastle, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and you may be late to pick up your child. However, we have a Late Pick-up Policy and associated fees to ensure that our staff and facility are not inconvenienced.
If you pick up your child after our established operating hours, you will be charged $1.50/minute. If you pick up your child past their scheduled or prepaid program, you will be charged $1.00/minute. To avoid these fees, please submit a note to extend the booked time by the regular hourly rate at least two hours before the beginning of extra time.
At WorkCastle, we take the responsibility of properly changing diapers (disposable and cloth) for the children in our care. To ensure a comfortable and hygienic experience, we ask parents to provide their child's diapers, wipes, and diaper cream. However, if these supplies are forgotten, they will be available for purchase.
We ask parents of potty-training children to bring extra clothes and wipes to ensure we can maintain a hygienic environment.
